Straight Bar Western

The basic principle of the Western Shoe is set back at the toe with the widest point of the foot used as a guideline for the center of the joint.

Biomechanical Characteristics and Effects:

The Straight Bar horseshoe offers a larger support area, providing better load distribution and protection to the heels. Designed with front, lateral, and medial rolling to promote rolling in all directions. The inner rim helps to sink the toe area and the straight bar avoid the heels sinking.

Therapeutic Effects:

- Reduces stress on the distal sesamoid bone and the deep digital flexor tendon.

- restores hoof balance upset by distortion of the coronet and the height of the hoof wall.

Indications:

- pathologies of the deep digital flexor tendon and the distal accessory ligament

- overlapping or contracted heels
