Egg Bar Western 

The basic principle of the Western Shoe is set back at the toe with the widest point of the foot used as a guideline for the center of the joint.

Biomechanical Characteristics and Effects:

The Egg Bar Western offers a larger support area, providing better load distribution and protection to the heels. Designed with front, lateral, and medial rolling to promote rolling in all directions. The inner rim helps to sink the toe area and the egg bar avoid the heels sinking. 

Therapeutic Effects: 

• Increased caudal support — Provides additional support to the heel region and caudal hoof structures.
• Load redistribution — Distributes ground reaction forces over a larger surface area, helping reduce concentrated loading within the hoof.
• Enhanced hoof stability — The continuous bar creates a more stable platform during the stance phase.
• Reduces stress on the distal sesamoid bone (navicular bone) and the Deep Digital Flexor Tendon (DDFT).

Indications:

• Indicated for pathologies of the Deep Digital Flexor Tendon.

• Treatment of issues related to the Distal Check Ligament (distal accessory ligament).

• Caudal heel pain and related hoof disorders
• Hoof capsule instability
